What is body jet liposuction?
Body-jet liposuction, sometimes known as ‘wet liposuction’, is a highly innovative and gentle technique for re-sculpturing which is kinder to the body than more traditional methods of liposuction.
Why have body-jet liposuction?
Your reasons for wanting to have body-jet liposuction will be exactly the same as the reasons for wanting traditional liposuction. The appeal of this particular method is that it helps to keep bruising and swelling to a minimum, and it also makes it easier for the unwanted fat cells to be removed. Whichever method suits your needs better, the decision to go ahead with surgery always needs careful consideration. We would strongly encourage you to chat through any doubts you might have with one of our consultant surgeons or a member of our team of friendly advisors before you commit to treatment. These advisors are here to help answer any questions you have, without applying any kind of sales pressure, so that you can be 100% confident with your decision if you do eventually proceed with surgery.
Your body-jet operation
Your chosen consultant surgeon will make a neat cut in the relevant area and insert a special cannula, with a pulsating action, to introduce a saline solution into the fatty tissue. This solution is quickly suctioned off, together with the unwanted fat cells. The cut will then be stitched and bandaged. The operation can be done under a general or local anaesthetic and comes with a shorter recovery time than traditional liposuction.
Recovery
As there is only minimal damage to the surrounding area, there are reduced levels of tenderness, swelling and bruising and you should be able to return to normal activities within a few days. You are also likely to find that the results will be smoother, without imperfections such as dimpling that can occasionally result from traditional liposuction.
